"Government has granted a holiday on October 15 for every person employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking or any other establishmnet in the national capital and entitled to vote and residing in Haryana to enable them to cast his/her vote during the elections of Haryana Legislative Assembly," said a senior official of Delhi government.
The official said that general administration department has issued a notification to this effect as per the provisions of Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
"If any person is employed on the basis that he or she would not ordinarily receive wages for such a day, he/she shall nonetheless be paid wages he/she would have drawn had not a holiday been granted to him/her on that day," he added.
