Encephalitis toll reaches 219 in West Bengal

Four deaths from different types of encephalitis were reported from north Bengal in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 219 since January.
While Japanese Encephalitis claimed one life in Darjeeling, one death each from Acute Encephalitis was reported from Jalpaiguri, Uttar Dinajpur and Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal Health Services Director Biswaranjan Satpathy told PTI today.
There was no report of new cases from anywhere in the state, he added.
