A college student was arrested here Thursday for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the social media, police said.
Vilasagaram Sai Kumar (21), a B Tech student, posted a selfie-video in which he purportedly made derogatory comments against the Chief Minister for his speech at a meeting on March 17, they said.
Assistant police commissioner P Ashok said based on the video, a case was registered against the accused under various sections of the IPC, including 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).
Kumar has been remanded in judicial custody, he added.
