The accused P Purnachandra Vara Prasad had demanded the amount for shifting of a 33 kv line to a new location from an applicant, ACB DSP S V V Prasad Rao told PTI.
The applicant later approached the ACB and lodged a complaint against the engineer, said the official.
Based on the complaint a trap was laid and the engineer was arrested while he was accepting an amount of Rs 2 lakh in his house, added the official.
