Ensure benefit of schemes reaches the needy: Rebia

Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Nabam Rebia has urged all the stakeholders to ensure that benefits of various WCD schemes reached the needy people, especially in rural areas.

Addressing a review meeting of his department here yesterday, Rebia asked the deputy director of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) to implement the centrally-sponsored schemes of the department sincerely and methodically in the interest of the state.

Officers were directed to utilize the funds judiciously and complete the schemes on time to benefit the targeted sections of the society, a press note said today.

The minister also asked the executing officers to prioritize the schemes in terms of need of the people.

Women and Child Development Commissioner Gamli Padu threw light on the activities of the department and said that it was meking every effort to implement the schemes efficiently in the interest of the beneficiaries.

Earlier, WCD Director Tokmem Pertin Loyi gave an overview of the various schemes implemented by the department through a power-point presentation.

She appealed to the deputy director (ICDS) and CDPOs to leave no stone unturned to make all the schemes under their jurisdiction a success.

While interacting with the minister and the commissioner, the participants expressed their grievances and other problems faced by them while implementing the schemes.

They highlighted some of the bottle-necks and urged the minister and the commissioner to place funds on time to execute the schemes successfully, the press note said.
