Ering brings to Centre's notice Chinese hydel proj, 3 dams on

Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh Ninong Ering today brought to the notice of the Centre the construction of hydro power project and three dams by China over Tsangpo River, which is known as Brahmaputra and Siang in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh respectively.
Raising the issue in the Lok Sabha, Ering, who represents Arunachal East constituency, said recently China has operationalised Zangbo hydro project at Gyaca besides constructing three more dams in Dagu, Jie Xu and Jia Chen over Tsangpo, an official release said.
"We have no river water agreement with China. This will be very disastrous in the long run because there will be water scarcity not only in Arunachal Pradesh, but throughout the Northeast," Ering pointed out.

Stating that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister had some talks with their counterparts in China, the MP wondered whether the issue was seriously, the release added.
