Constable Vinod had complained to the police that some miscreants of Neemkhera village under Kotwali Dehat Police Station had looted his official carbine gun, SP (City) Rajesh Kumar said here.
According to the SP, Vinod was presently posted in Jhansi and is deployed in the security of Samajwadi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Chandrapal Singh Yadav.
The police contingent rushed on his call to the village and found that Vinod was under the influence of alcohol and that his complaint was a lie, Kumar said.
The errant cop was released later on requests of his relatives after being issued a stern warning, Kumar added.
