Media monitoring company Esha Media Research Ltd today said it has entered into a pact with Canada's broadcaster to record the latter's television content and also monitor it.
"We have bagged the first deal with an overseas broadcaster and it opens up a window of opportunity for Esha Media. Though in the overall context of our total revenue it may be negligible, it may turn out to be big component going forward," Esha Media Managing Director R S Iyer said in a statement.
The name of the Canadian broadcaster was not revealed due to non-disclosure agreement.
Following the order, Esha Media is now exploring cross- border opportunities from international public and media agencies, broadcasters as also corporate conglomerates after establishing itself in the domestic market for over a decade, Iyer said.
The service to the overseas broadcaster is relatively priced attractively at 60 per cent of the pricing prescribed by global monitoring agencies, he said.
Prior to this pact, the company successfully provided services to UK-based international sports body and several large multinational clients based out of US and Europe with clips of TV media related to the products, services and statements made by their officials of Indian subsidiaries.
"With the currency dynamics of Indian rupee making it an attractive proposition to avail services from India, the company has positioned itself as a one stop solution for large international conglomerates to outsource their assignments to India," Iyer said.
Apart from monitoring over 200 television channels uplinked in India, Esha also provides web page service, making it convenient for its clients to track clips relating to their companies as also a webpage for PR agencies, which is an exclusive platform for multi-client public relations agencies.
BSE-listed Esha Media is also in the process of raising funds in the form of debt and equity to fund its expansion plans. The company has also firmed up its plans to foray into television rating covering over 100,000 households over two-phase period.
