The FIR was filed yesterday over the alleged murder of one Jeetoo who, his family members claimed, was shot dead by unidentified persons on February 19 this year.
"We have registered an FIR in the murder case after the local court's order," said Azibul Haq, Circle Officer, Kotwali-Etah city.
Asked about the claims by the father of the deceased that police had initially refused to register an FIR in the case, Haq said this was the "primary phase" of the investigation and "further inquiries" would have to be made.
Now, a case of murder has been filed under IPC Section 302 (murder), said Pachauri.
