"Vaid has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Sarita Vihar. His condition is stated to be serious," said Vinod Tanwar, a BJP leader who took the former MLA to hospital.
Tanwar said the incident took place minutes before Union minister Sadhvi reached the venue.
While addressing the rally, in the presence of East Delhi MP Mahesh Giri and other party leaders, Vaid suddenly fell unconscious on the stage. He was immediately taken to the hospital.
Aam Aadmi Party had earlier accused Vaid of fomenting the Trilokpuri riots.
