Fourth Additional Sessions Judge Vishnukumar Soni yesterday awarded life imprisonment to Vinod Singh, former Leader of Opposition in Dhar Nagar Palika who was disqualified as Congress corporator of ward no. 3, and his associate Kundan Ajmera.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
They had shot dead Sunil Rajput following a land dispute on November 4, 2013, government advocate Suresh Jalodia said today.
A case under section 302 (murder) was registered against them in this regard.
The weapon used by Singh was unlicensed following which a case under Arms Act section 25 was also registered against him.
