"Is it not an act of vendetta designed to scuttle my chances of becoming director of the CBI?" Mishra asked while talking to PTI over phone from Delhi.
Mishra, a 1977 batch Odisha cadre IPS officer and presently posted as the special secretary, internal security under the Ministry of Home Affairs, also raised question on the state government's intention of filing a case against him after a gap of five years.
"There is no mention of me anywhere in the audit report on the basis of which the case against me has been apparently registered," he pointed out.
Mishra said he was not given an opportunity to present the case. The senior cop also questioned why the audit was done only for the period when he was CMD of (OPHWC) and not for the period of his predecessor or successor.
