The minimum family pension for the spouse of deceased ex-MLAs was today raised in the House through a bill from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500 per month.
A bill to this effect titled: Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Officers and members emoluments and pension) (Amendment) Bill, 2014, was passed by a voice vote after it was tabled in the house by Parliamentary Minister R S Rathor.
Independent MLA M C Surana demanded that the raise in pension was insufficient and it should be more to meet the inflation.
Rathor said it would put an extra financial burden of Rs 19.50 lakh on the exchequer.
