Shokeen, who was an Independent MLA, was caught by Special Cell of Delhi Police from a school in Rama Vihar in Karala on last evening, a senior police officer said.
He was charge-sheeted last year under the provisions of stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCoCA) for his alleged involvement in the crime syndicate active in south west Delhi which is headed by Neeraj Bawana, who is presently in lodged in a jail.
In Apirl last year, police had recovered an AK-47 and an SLR rifle allegedly from his property in outer Delhi's Bawana area on the instance of his nephew Neeraj Bawana.
Police said the weapons were looted from Uttarakhand police on December 16, 2014 by Niraj who played an active role in arranging the escape of another criminal, Amit Malik alias Bhura from police custody.
The plot to free Bhura was allegedly hatched at Shokeen's office and after Bawana returned with the looted AK-47, it was the former MLA who allegedly advised him to bury the weapons at his property, said the officer.
