Haryana has recorded a "slight increase" in registration of properties after demonetisation of old notes of higher denominations, State's Finance Minister Abhimanyu said here today.
"The demonetisation had no adverse impact on the registration of properties in the state," he said in a release, and described the demonetisation "as a very significant decision in the interest of the country".
He said that this difference in number of registries has been revealed after comparison of their data between November 1 to 8, 2016 and after announcement of demonetisation, "that is from November 9 to 21".
Abhimanyu said that 8,648 properties were registered in various districts in the state from November 1 to 8 as against registration of 8995 properties from November 9 to 21.
The working days in both periods--that is from November 1 to 8 and from November 9 to 21 were almost the same, leaving out five holidays which fell in the latter period.
He said that a maximum of 1032 registries were made in district Gurugram from November 9 to 21 as compared to 952 from November 1 to 8.
Similarly, in Faridabad 676 registries were recorded after demonetisation up to November 21 whereas 537 properties were registered between November 1 and 8.
The Haryana Minister said that in Nuh, 222 registries were recorded after demonetisation as compared to 150 before demonetisation of the higher denomination currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
