Excise constable dies in mishap as smugglers tried escape

An Excise Department constable was killed and three of his colleagues were injured when suspected ganja smugglers tried to escape from their moving car which rammed into a stationary lorry near Prathipadu.
The incident occurred when the Excise staff were returning along with two smugglers, police said.
As the smugglers attempted to escape by pushing the personnel, the car driver lost control of vehicle which rammed into the lorry.
The deceased constable was identified as Nageswara Rao (42).
