The Excise department has directed the Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation (DSCSC) to shift its liquor shop from Hans Bhawan in ITO complex to some other location after it received complaints about people drinking openly and creating nuisance, officials said.

In its order issued on July 1, the DSCSC has been asked to shift the liquor vend within one month.

According to the Excise department, a complaint was filed in the Public Grievance Commission (PGC) regarding chaotic condition due to "open drinking, public nuisance and congestion" in the vicinity of Vikas Bhawan due to the presence of the liquor vend.

"Member PGC during the course of hearing in the case expressed strong displeasure on existence of liquor (shop) at Hans Bhawan and advised this department to initiate steps for relocation of the above liquor vend in the interest of safety and security of the staff and public in general and women in particular," the order stated.

It also said, "DSCSC is directed to shift the above liquor vend from Hans Bhawan, ITO complex, New Delhi to some other suitable location, within one month of issue of this order."
