The Excise Department (ED) foiled a bid to smuggle poppy in fruit boxes and seized 190 kg of the drug at Lakhanpur interstate toll plaza in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, officials said today.
The seizure was made from a truck which was loaded with fresh fruits, they said.
A case has been registered in this regard, they said, adding further investigation is underway.
