Excise inspector files police complaint about blackmail bid

A woman excise inspector has complained to the police that a liquor company manager allegedly "exploited" her in the name of marriage and also made a video clipping, the police said here today.
Harda police station in-charge, Kunwar Singh Mukati, told reporters here today that the woman met liquor company manager Nikhil Soni a few months ago, after which he allegedly "exploited" her under the pretext of marrying her.
Later, he allegedly made a video clipping and began blackmailing her after she insisted that he marry her, the officer said.
The woman excise inspector said she maintained silence about the issue because of her reputation but after Soni allegedly threatened her in front of the court today, she decided to file a complaint against him.

The police took Soni into custody after registering a case of rape and under other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the officer said.
