The FIR was registered against BJP district president Harish Shakya and 15 others at Civil Lines police station yesterday for allegedly beating executive engineer Vijendra Singh and creating ruckus in the power department over the case, police said.
SSP Chandra Prakash said as per Singh, the BJP leader pressured him to withdraw the power theft case against one Natthu Ram of Awas Vikas colony but when he expressed his helplessness in doing so, he was beaten up.
