Explore R&D initiatives to uplift rural youth: Minister to ind

The industry must explore research and innovation initiatives to uplift the lives of rural youth, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Ram Shankar Katheria said today.
"The industry should explore the possibilities of improving the lives of rural people through research and innovation initiatives," the minister said at an Assocham event here.
"The Government and the industry need to work in tandem to lift up the deprived rural youth whose talent has no value," Katheria said.
The minister further said that there is no dearth of knowledge amid youth in India's rural and tribal areas but they have to face various obstacles due deficient infrastructure and lack of both government and industry support.

Talking about various steps taken by the government, the minister said governance system established under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in past 10 months has not only restored but also boosted public confidence in Indian democracy which had been eroding during the previous government's regime.
