Extortion bid of Rs 80 lakh on pharmacist
Press Trust of India Meerut A pharmacist at a district hospital here has allegedly received a call demanding Rs 80 lakh or face consequences, police said today.
An unidentified person called Rambir Singh last night and demanded Rs 80 lakh, threating to kill him if the demand was not fulfilled, they said.
An FIR has been lodged on the basis of the information provided by Rambir's son Ravi.
Efforts are on to trace the mobile number from which the call was received, police said.
