With the inauguration, the Rail Bhawan donned a dazzling appearance illuminated by the white floodlights on all sides. The vintage steam engine located on front side was outlined with LED lights.
The facade lighting also matches the illumination of the Vayu Sena Bhawan, which is symmetrically opposite to Rail Bhawan on Rajpath.
The cost of the decorative lighting for Rail Bhawan is estimated to be Rs. 27.81 lakh and the work was completed in two months time, according to a senior Railway Ministry official.
Railway Board Chairman Arunendra Kumar inaugurated the new toy train model and the mini steam locomotive, which would be add value to the rail museum's heritage collection, in the presence of senior railway officials and other guests.
