An employee of a paper mill under Sikheda police station limits in Muzzaffarnagar district was killed today after a tin shed in the factory came down on him during heavy rains, police said.
The deceased was identified as 43-year-old V V Tiwari, who worked as a production manager in the paper mill, they said.
After the collapse, he was rushed to hospital but doctors there declared him dead.
At least 27 people were killed since yesterday, including three in Muzaffarnagar, as heavy rains wreaked havoc in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, according to a government spokesperson.
Incessant rains have thrown normal life out of gear in Muzaffarnagar and its neighbouring districts.
