Police today busted a fake currency racket here and seized counterfeit notes along with printing equipment.
Police raided a house at Minhaj Path in Hatigaon area following an information from its owner about her tenant's suspicious activities, Assam Police said in a release.
The officers found a printer, fake notes of Rs 50, Rs 200, Rs 500 denomination, along with a scanner, a printer, 17 colour cartridges among other materials inside the house.
As soon as the police team arrived, Jainal Ahmed and two others, identified as Azmal Hoque and Jiabuddin Lashkar, fled the scene, leaving the fake notes behind, the release said.
The owner of the house said the tenant had recently moved in and around five to six people visited him regularly.
A massive search has been launched to arrest the trio, the officer added.
