At least 69 persons were arrested and two call centres, located in B-block of sector-5 and D-block in sector-10 of Noida, were sealed, Additional Superintendent of Police (UPSTF) Triveni Singh said.
The accused working in the call centres used to contact job seekers posing as representatives of online job portals, where they had applied, and asked to make a payment for the job, he said.
After taking the amount they also gave fake appointment letters to some of the victims, he said explaining the modus operandi.
The information about the victims used by them was retrieved famous job portals, the ASP said.
Several victims had complained to the STF in Lucknow about the online job fraud following which the force initiated an investigation and seized the call centres after tracing them, the ASP said.
