Fake travel agency dupes family visiting Dubai

A family of five who booked tickets to Dubai through a travel agency's portal were shocked to find that their money was siphoned off, a police official said here today.
Police inspector Arvind Karpe of the Kasarwadavali police station told PTI that an offence under Section 420 read with with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code and different sections of the Information technology Act, 2000, against the agency.
He said that the family had paid Rs 70,000 for the trip to Dubai to meet their relatives in February 2015.
In his statement, Ravindra Shailaji Shelke (30), in his statement to police allegedly said that on February 3 he booked five tickets for his family members for Rs 70,000.
A police team has been dispatched to investigate the offence, the police official said.
