Lt Governor Anil Baijal today directed the Delhi Police to develop its manpower through greater intervention of technology to achieve its 'Vision 2027' for modernisation of the force.
Baijal asked the police to prioritise action plan for smart policing and take it up in a phased manner, an official said today.
The LG, who chaired a meeting on law and order today at Raj Niwas to review the action plan for implementation of vision of Delhi Police for 2027, emphasised that personnel at all levels need to be familiarised with the technological upgradation.
The meeting was attended by Delhi Principal Secretary (Home), Commissioner of Police, special commissioners and joint commissioners of Delhi Police.
According to the L-G office, the scenario 2020 envisages development of smart policing, integration of technology, artificial intelligence, 3D printing among others.
"The L-G directed Delhi Police to enhance human resource capability to enable greater use of technology effectively and efficiently for welfare of public," the L-G Secretariat said in a statement.
In the meeting, Baijal emphasised that the action plan for various proposals needs to be prioritised.
He stressed that in place of different applications, there should be single omnibus application for citizens.
He asked the force to come up with definite actionable time-bound plans focusing on immediate requirements keeping in view their technological and personnel capabilities.
