'Family Guy' to do episode about Donald Trump, fake news

The new season of "Family Guy" has its lenses trained towards US President Donald Trump and fake news.

According to EW, the animated Fox comedy series will offer up an episode that mocks Trump.

In the new installment, which is expected to air sometime during season 17, President Trump discovers that Peter is an expert seller of fake news. He hires Peter as his new Communications Director, and the Griffins move to Washington, DC.

When Meg has an "unpleasant encounter" with the POTUS, though, relations between Trump and Peter turn sour, leading to "an epic battle" between the duo.

"Although this episode was written almost a year ago, fortunately Trump has done nothing since then to embarrass himself or our nation," said Family Guy co-showrunners Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin said in a statement.

With this episode, "Family Guy" is continuing to ridicule Trump as it did in its 2016's for-your-consideration Emmy mailer campaign featured Peter as Trump, with his famous hair that recently saw popular host Jimmy Fallon at the centre of a Twitter war, asking, "As long as we're voting for dumb loudmouths, can I get an Emmy?"
