The girl, 16, was struck by the vehicle as fellow fans watched in horror outside the Metro Arena in Newcastle, where the band was performing, reported Daily Mirror.
Shocked witnesses called emergency services after the incident, which took place off the arena site and didn't involve a vehicle connected with the show.
The unnamed youngster suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Royal Victoria Infirmary but has since been released.
"Police were informed at 3:30 p.M. That a 16-year-old girl had suffered minor injuries after being hit by a lorry in Dunn Street near the Metro Arena," a police spokesperson said.
One Direction comprising Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Liam Payne, are currently working their way through a 117-date world tour, taking in Europe, America, Australia and Asia.
