Distressed over not being able to fetch a good price for his crop, a 48-year-old farmer committed suicide in Kishanganj village here.
Banwari Lal Dhakad (48), hanged himself at his residence in the village, the police said.
The farmer owned around 2 bighas of land. He had rented another 8 bighas of land for growing garlic. But he could not fetch a good price for the produce. He was tensed over it, his family members claimed.
The police, however, said the farmer did not depend only on agriculture for livelihood.
A case of suicide has been registered at the Budadeet police station.
In June, five debt-ridden farmers ended their lives in the Hadouti region of Rajasthan.
