A 25-year-old "debt-ridden" farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Nagla Fatela village here.
The victim, identified as Yogendra Singh, killed himself yesterday in the village on Mathura Road, police said.
According to his family members Yogendra, who was a father of two daughters, had received a compensation of Rs 1,500 for crop damage by unseasonal rains last month.
His brother Sushil claimed that Yogendra had landed into a debt of about Rs 4 lakh, following a near total damage of his crops.
