Lalsu Kundi Atram, a farmer from Bejur village, was killed last night, Gadchiroli police PRO told PTI.
Around 8 to 10 ultras entered the village and disrupted a function. They forcibly took away Lalsu, who they suspected was a police informer, and killed him, he said.
In a separate incident, police seized arms and ammunition after an exchange of fire with Naxals.
Acting on a tip-off that a group of Maoists was hiding in Nadekel village of the district, police launched an operation on Sunday night to nab them, an official release said today.
There was no casualty on the either side and the rebels managed to escape under the cover of darkness, the release said.
Police later recovered two rifles, magazines, 16 live cartridges, one Claymore mine, medicines, books anddaily use items from the encounter spot, it added.
