The outfit said that if the government failed to address the issue, the farmers will begin an agitation.
"A large number of farmers have to sell their products in open market on prices lower than the MSP, so the government should compensate such farmers by announcing a package for them," Mahapanchayat leader Rampal Jat told reporters here.
"Less than 19 per cent of total production of wheat was procured in 2012-13 and farmers had to sell the remaining quantity in open market on below MSP. It causes loss to farmers and we demand that the government should make arrangement for 100 per cent procurement," he said.
"The issue can be taken up in the Legislative Assembly by the government and if there is no response from the government, we will undertake an agitation after the session is over," the Mahapanchayat leader said.
