"Some 100 farmers from our organisation have been taken into custody by police in the wee hours across the state," BKU (Ugrahan) Secretary Sukhdev Singh told PTI.
BKU (U) has given a call to block road traffic in Punjab from 12 to 3 pm tomorrow.
According to police, the farmers were taken into preventive custody to maintain law and order tomorrow.
Singh said that their demand is to release the nine farmers owing allegiance to their outfit who are in jails in Majha belt of Punjab. The arrested senior leaders include Paramjeet Kaur, Narinder Kaur and Harpal Singh.
Out of 49 arrested, 40 were released yesterday, a senior police officer said here, adding that other nine could not be released as they faced severe criminal charges.
