Fast local trains to halt at Diva station

The long wait of commuters from Diva to have a fast local train (suburban train service) will come to an end tomorrow as the Central Railway (CR) will halt fast local train at this station.
Central Railway has decided to halt 12 Up and 12 Down fast local trains at Diva station with effect from December 18, a statement issued by CR said.
This decision will provide relief to the residents of Diva. Off late there has been a huge rise in the number of passengers taking local train from this station due to a number of housing projects coming up here.

The first fast Karjat bound local train leaving CST at 6.10 AM will arrive at Diva at 6.57 AM, while CST bound Karjat local leaving Karjat at 5.53 AM will arrive Diva at 6.55 AM, the release said.
Owing to this additional halt, all the fast local trains will reach the destination two minutes behind schedule, said the release.
Last year, Central Railway's suburban operations were hit by agitations carried out by angry passengers who complained of not able to board trains at Diva owing to overcrowded situation.
