The incident took place in Khajuri Khas area of North East Delhi last night.
It was reported to the local police around 4 AM when the man walked in to the police station and told them that he has murdered his tenant and escorted a police team to the house where Omkar (45) was found dead.
"The man told us that Omkar had sexually assaulted his daughter around a month ago and threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone. The family however came to know about the incident recently," said a police official.
"On his return to Delhi, the 52-year-old man confronted him last night and in a fit of rage, strangled him to death. It seems that he was killed with a rope or something but the exact cause of death will be revealed following a postmortem," the officials said.
Omkar's family has been informed. He is survived by his wife and children at his native village in Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the 14-year-old girl was given counselling by an NGO in the presence of her mother.
