Father sets his 3 children on fire in Yamunanagar

A father today allegedly set his three children on fire after pouring kerosene oil on them following a dispute with his wife in the Hamida area of the district, police said.
Two girls -- six-year-old Mahi and four-year-old Jiya -- received around 40-45 per cent burn injuries while the boy received five per cent burn injuries, a senior police official said, adding that the girls were referred to PGIMER at Chandigarh.
According to police, father of children, Shaukat first got into heated argument with his wife over some issue this morning.
After which, he allegedly poured kerosene oil on his three children and set them on fire and then fled from the spot.

Hearing cries of children, neighbours rushed to save them. While saving the children, two of the neighbours identified as Rajvir and Gulshan, also received burn injuries, police said.
DSP Joginder Sharma said a case under Section 307 of IPC has been registered against Shaukat on the complaint of his wife.
A team has been constituted to nab him, he said.
