The incident occurred last night when Raja, while carrying his son Karthik, was walking on the burning embers. The bystanders rushed to their rescue and took them to a hospital.
Local BJP MLA Manoranjan Kalia, who met the injured father-son duo at the hospital said, "I have provided them a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 and sent them to Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS)."
The district magistrate was not available to comment on the incident.
