FB post abt CM's grand-daughter: order on bail plea reserved

A local court today reserved its order on the anticipatory (pre-arrest) bail application filed by a non-resident Indian, facing a case of sexual harassment over a Facebook post about the grand-daughter of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel.
Sessions Judge S J Raje today concluded the hearing on the application filed by Roshan Shah, the accused. The court is likely to pronounce the order on September 3.
Cyber cell of city police have filed a first information report against Shah under the Information Technology Act and section 354 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (sexual harassment), on the basis of a complaint filed by Akshay Patel.

Public prosecutor Sudhir Brahambhatt, who appeared for Crime Branch, said that offence was bailable (where bail is mandatory), so there was no need to grant anticipatory bail.
Shah's contention is that he is innocent and was framed up by police as he had earlier tried to file FIR against Chief Minister Patel for alleged misappropriation at Ranip police station here, but police declined to register it.
When he raised the issue on Facebook, some other person posted a comment with a photograph of Patel's grand-daughter, he says.
