A 35-year-old guard, posted at FCI godown, was allegedly shot dead by unidentified men, who fled away with his licenced gun in Sikandararau area here, police said today.
Guard Moolchand was on duty at the FCI godown last night when four miscreants shot at him when the victim resisted their attempt to loot his gun, police said.
The police party which rushed on hearing gun shots took him to a primary health centre where the doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
A case has been registered and hunt launched to nab the culprits, police added.
