Wife of noted film director Chabdi Parija, Runu complained of chest pain at her Bidanasi residence and she was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Doctors suspect the 48-year-old cine star died of a massive cardiac arrest.
Family sources said the last rites of Runu would be held on Saturday after her only daughter, who works in an IT industry in Pune, returns.
Soon after the news of Runu spread, friends, relatives and several film personalities of the city made a beeline to her house to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
The versatile actor, who is also known for her dancing prowess, had acted in over 50 films during her career spanning nearly two decades. "Daieeba Daudi", Mo Kola To' Jhulana, "Laxman Rekha" and "Rumuku Jhumana" are some of her films in which she made her marks and won many a hearts too.
Besides cinema, Runu too had appeared in many mega TV serials and excelled her popularity.
