"At an event in Vile-Parle, Mumbai, on March 8, all the contestants would be creating a buzz around adoption of stray Indian breed animal as pets," said Shahira Sunder, Vice President, World For All Animal Care and Adoptions (WFA), an NGO.
The event was being held on the occasion of Women's Day, she said.
Some Bollywood celebrities had already backed the cause with the actor couple Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu adopting two stray puppies, she said.
"Zubaan" star Sarah Jane Dias, "Paheli" star Aditi Gowitrikar, VJ Alesia Raut, Aesthetic Physician Jamuna Pai, Miss India trainer Sabira Merchant, fashion designers Sonakshi Raaj and Nivedita Saboo would be present at the event where some pups and kittens would be up for adoption.
