Fertiliser secretary gets additional charge as Mines Secretary

Fertiliser Secretary Shaktikanta Das will hold the additional charge as Mines Secretary for three months with effect from March 1.
An IAS officer of 1980 batch belonging to Tamil Nadu cadre, Das replaced R H Khwaja who retired on February 28 upon attaining the age of superannuation.
"The assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Mines to Shaktikanta Das... (is) for a period of three months with effect from March 1 or until further orders, whichever is earlier," an official statement said.
Das had been with the Finance Ministry in various roles before he took over as Fertiliser Secretary.
