From winning a National award to receiving critical acclaim, Raam Reddy has done it all with his first film "Thithi" and the filmmaker says the best way to judge a movie is by focusing on its content rather than the language it is made in.
"We should treat every single film as an Indian film and judge it on the basis of content rather than language," Reddy said during one of the session of NFDC Film Baazar at IFFI.
"Thithi," which premiered at Locarno International Film Festival in 2015, went on to win the Golden Leopard award. Reddy said a good a film is always praised than be it from any part of the world.
"I feel great that in India a good Indian film is always appreciated. People embraced 'Thithi' as a good Indian film and they didn't take it as a Kannada film or anything," he said.
Reddy advised budding filmmakers to think about making their movie properly first and worry about the release platform later.
"Make the best film you can make, then position it and decide which is your best premiere. Film festivals are really prestigious at premiere stage. But, don't give launch so much priority just put your best in the film," he said.
