Financial help of Rs 6.68 crore given to 18,000 people in J-K

"Financial assistance to the tune of Rs 6.85 crore has been provided to 18,620 deserving persons under various Social Welfare Schemes in Bandipora district during last fiscal," an official spokesman said.

An amount of Rs 12.30 lakh stand disbursed among 123 widows under National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) during the same period, he said.

MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat yesterday distributed cheques worth Rs 3.60 lakh among 36 beneficiaries from the district under the NFBS, the spokesman added.
