Kerala Governor P Sathasivam today exhorted the scientific community to think and find viable solutions to new ailments emerging of late.
Mortal diseases now were almost cured by medical treatment due to scientific advancement. However, new ailments were emerging in society, and the scientific community should think for viable solutions, Sathasivam said here tonight.
After inaugurating the silver jubilee celebrations of the Gem Hospital and Research Centre, Sathasivam said in the sophisticated and speciality era all methodologies were adopted and the modern advancement in the medical field was a boon to the society.
Lauding the services of Dr C Palanivelu, Chairman of the Centre, who had introduced laparoscopy in this region, Sathasivam also asked doctors to maintain punctuality in their profession, which was an hallmark.
N Ram, Chairman, Kasturi and Sons Limited, said right to health should get into the system on the lines of right to education.
Attention should be given to the basic needs, as many were deprived of medical education, due to high capitation fee, which was a major challenge.
"Health deprivation remains a challenge in India notwithstanding the services of large number of doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, offered over the decades, Ram said.
