"Pradeep Agrawal, the chairman of the college, Madam Durga Puja, Meerendra and Sanjai Chauhan the three lecturers of Computer science department of the college did not allow my son Utpal Yadav to appear in the sessional examination being held recently. It adversely affected him and it incited my son to commit suicide," according to the FIR filed by the deceased student's father.
"The above four persons have been booked under section 306 (Abetment of suicide) of IPC. We would take action after thorough enquiry," Deputy SP Chakrapani Tripathi said.
The suicide note recovered from the deceased's pocket said that he had committed suicide "out of depression" but he did not mention the cause of depression, Tripathi said.
Students of the college had protested against the incident yesterday by going on a rampage inside the college which was brought under control by police.
