Fire at SSB camp in Assam, goods worth lakhs gutted

A fire broke out Monday at a canteen of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) camp at Hahara Moranjana area in Kamrup district of Assam.

Consumer items, including electronic goods, toiletries and essential commodities worth several lakhs of rupees were gutted in the fire, SSB sources said.

Two fire tenders from Rangia and Baihata areas in the district, with the help of SSB jawans, doused the fire in around 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the sources added.
