Fire in edible oil factory in Hooghly, no casualty

A big fire broke out in an edible oil factory at Chanditala in Hooghly district today.
Fire Brigade sources said ten fire tenders put off the flames after battling for around five hours.
The flames were noticed in the morning.
There was no report of any casualty as whoever was in the compound came out immediately after the flames were noticed, the sources said.
Workers of the factory alleged a major portion of the plant was damaged in another fire two days back and demanded a probe into the reason.
The cause of the today's fire not yet clear, police said.

The extent of damage was being assessed.
